My WIPs go with me any time I have so sit and wait for my turn. Haven’t taken them to a restaurant yet, although that might be risky as far as food and drink spills.

I hear you. I have brought them to restaurants but only for the waiting time. Knitting goes safely back inside as soon as food arrives! 😅

I paused a show long enough to chart the cable pattern on a sweater someone was wearing.

I worked on a sock the whole time they were doing allergy testing on my back. At some point a nurse called another nurse in to “look at the sock she’s making!”

As for how many…7!

Agnes I have good news! See those 3 little dots to the right of your post, you can click on them and edit your posts. Then click 'save' below your post and all is good. As one who often needs to edit my stuff, I love this feature!

I agree edit features are such life savers. Sometimes I imagine Autocorrect has evolved to be pointedly sarcastic.

Kavitha, this is just the post I needed to distract me from the roof being redone. 5 guys up there going Tromp! Tromp! Tromp .. Thud! Thud! Thud! lol On the ground they are doing their best not to upset the flower beds or trees. For which I am very thankful! This needed to be done and despite the noise, I am happy that there will be a new roof. It all makes me too anxious to knit, but thinking about your post is helping to distract me. You found me on pretty much your whole list! And oh yeah that's me taking a pic of a shoulder seam or pretty beanie I want to try! Up here in the Pac. NW this is how we do LYS in May... https://www.lystour.com/

Turning up the classical music! lol Which reminds me, A good part of my knitting life is spent listening to mystery writers. Some of my favorites from the past have been Lillian Jackson Braun (The Cat Who author), Dorothy Gilman (Mrs. Pollifax series) , Tony Hillerman and now his daughter Anne Hillerman, and all Susan Wittig Albert series among many others.

Me and the cat are hanging in here with your help Kavitha! :-)

Aww!! Sending hugs Sandy. The last time I was editing a pattern in the 'quiet room' of my local library, there was some roof repair going on and I know exactly what you mean. A library getting a new roof is wonderful and absolutely the last thing on earth I want to complain about. So I made myself sit through and finish what I started. :) I am so glad to hear this post was a needed distraction.

Love the idea of a whole LYS tour. Sounds fun!.

Sweeping up all of those suggestions for my queue. I think I have read one Mrs.Pollifax. Rest are new to me!

Brava Kavitha! For you working in a library with roofing repair being done to show your support! All roofing is a love/hate producer of mixed reactions. I believe it is a good crew working on my roof and that helps me to power through the noise. They are gone for today and I will be knitting to get my life back in order. This is another of my knitterly things to do!

I am doing swatches of Turkish patterns to get ready to copy a wonderful lambswool scarf from the 1930's. One stitch that is new to me, is a simple method of creating diagonal rows that are very close together by continuing working on the diagonal on both the front and the back/or inside of the piece in a simple 2 row repeat. Here is the pattern for a Diagonal to the Left:

(multiples of 2)

Row 1: knit

Row 2: P1, * wl. fwd. (wool forward), p2 tog, tbl (though back of loops)* p1

Row 3: K1, * sl (slip)1, k1, psso (pass slip stitch over), wl. fwd. * k1

Row 4: Repeat from Row 2

Interesting how the back/or inside stitches are not diagonal, but rather a dense vertical stitch pattern that is unique and pretty, too!

BTW, I love that yellow version of your Mika vest! So just right with what she is wearing.

Wish me luck on the scarf and roof, too!
