Review, Refocus, and Recommit for 2025
Finding focus in the luxury of breaks, CraftDoodling Designs News, other updates etc.
I’m generally not a big fan of making groundbreaking resolutions tied to the New Year. Any time is a good time for change and growth. In my last post, I reflected on the past year and shared some thoughts on what will keep me grounded moving into 2025.
That said, the Christmas and New Year holidays provide a wonderful opportunity to catch up on long-pending tasks, clear the decks, and make space for new things. There’s a sense of synergy during this season for completion and renewal. And I’ve been taking full advantage of it, completing big and small tasks both for work and around the house. We’ve rearranged spaces in our home to enhance comfort, cooked and enjoyed delicious treats, welcomed friends, and played games. These moments of connection and refreshment have been truly rejuvenating.
Breaks are the real luxury
I can’t say I completely ignored designs and deadlines, but I managed to keep them at bay for a while. Admittedly, I’ve always found it hard to convince myself to take a break, yet I’ve come to realize over the years that the ability to pause is a real luxury. And it doesn’t have to be extravagant—even a few hours away from the internet 🛜 can work wonders.
In that quiet time between Christmas and New Year, there exists a gentle lull. With no pressing deadlines and most high-priority work wrapped up, it feels like the true gift of the holiday season. This precious window is the perfect opportunity to step back, refresh, and reenergize.
Do you agree? I hope this season has offered you a similar chance to pause and gather inspiration for a fresh year filled with possibility.❤️
Review, Refocus, Recommit
Reviewing my work in 2024 has taught me something about myself: I thrive in collaborative projects. I’ve been fortunate to co-create with so many talented and generous individuals, and I’m heading into 2025 with my eyes and heart wide open for new connections.
Refocussing on my approach to design work - I’ve realized how much I value and love creating patterns that invite repetition. In 2024, it was incredibly rewarding to hear from so many of you about how much you enjoyed knitting some of my patterns multiple times. I also love learning about and working with various fit aspects. Your feedback has been both encouraging and inspiring, and I’m committed to continuing along this path, designing with these principles in mind.
Recommitting to the joys of knittting - this lovely portable craft I can carry with me, has always saved me from unwanted distractions and given me moments of relaxation and delight throughout my days. As I step into 2025, I want to remind myself of all the reasons I fell in love with this craft and continue to create from that happy place.
2025 has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? While its full story remains unwritten, I’m hopeful for the year ahead.
Wishing you all a joyful and fulfilling 2025!
