🫂🫂🫂 You are important and what you have to say/design has value. When we are not the mainstream, our voices are even more important. There are people who look/think like you that need to see/hear from you. Tell that imposter voice that they have no place here!

Thank you so much for your kind words Patricia. 💟 I am slowly learning to take my space and to keep eyes, ears and heart open for others too.

Your thoughts resonate with mine. In fact my designing has taken a back seat for all the reasons you have mentioned. So presently I am just crafting in pursuit of happiness 😊

Love this!! I'm trying to design my first pattern, and the anxiety has gotten in the way of just enjoying the knitting and yarn

Thank you! Yes, there is some anxiety, but we do it anyway. I hope you are able to work through things and give it a try. All the very best. ❤️

I just stumbled upon your substack and designs recently and I love them! I really look forward to knitting one of your designs soon! And I resonate so much with the questions that come up for you. I feel them most in my writing. I worry about whether anyone wants to read what I'm writing about, but I find that settling into the writing process itself and enjoying what that feels like can help with those worries. There will be people who don't love a design or any other creative project, but there will also be plenty who do! And if you enjoy it and find meaning in it, that's what matters most.

Thank you so much for your kind comment! You are right. Ultimately, we get to connect with people who resonate with what we do, think or create and that connection is probably all that matters. Subconsciously, I think that is what we are looking for when we do the things we do.

Yeah! It's so hard to remember that connection is what matters, and I agree with you, I think it's probably what we're looking for whether we realize it initially or not. I'm excited to keep reading your work :)

I so admire knitters who also design patterns. Thank you Kavitha, for your honesty and openess about the challenges you face in your design journey. I'm sure many designers would resonate.
