Oh! The camisole looks beautiful!!! I love this colorway and you’re making me want to dye some more. 😁 I agree with you so much about pauses and how much they can reinvigorate you. Even just a day of pausing can feel so good to me. (Insert emoji for “resonating” here!) lastly: What’s the yarn weight for your new mitts? I have been wanting to do more test knitting + I need a new pair of mitts for fall dog walking. 🐶

Thank YOU for dyeing these GORGEOUS colors, Anne. 😻 All your colors are very wardrobe friendly, not just the wardrobe series, IMO.

A resonating emoji would be cool, indeed! 😀

Yay, thank you !!! for wanting to test knit. 🥰

Yarn weight for Almas Mitts:

Fingering (Lang Jawoll)+ lace weight mohair (Tosh Silk Cloud) = Sport

Hi Anne and Kavitha, Forgot to mention that I like your Almas Mitts, too!!! Perhaps a resonating emoji could be a vibrating pitchfork? We do need one. 😀

Thank you Sandy! And that would be perfectly hilarious. 😂😂

Oh dear . . . maybe I should have said vibrating tuning-fork. I vibrating pitchfork puts a whole other spin on it, doesn't it! LOL A little red faced but laughing, too.

🤭😅😁 I promise you I didn't notice the fork misplacement at all. I was totally thinking of tuning-fork too. Why do they have to call it "pitch"fork though, making it sound as if it is related to music??? 😂

Oh yes it is related to music. Here’s what Wikipedia has to say, “ It resonates at a specific constant pitch when set vibrating by striking it.” I’ll let them have the last word on this topic. :)

Perfection!!! I have two bases that would be perfect and I will eagerly await your testing call. 📞

A very valid take on a pause. I consider them very important too as I believe monotony kills. Having said that, it is difficult to get started after a pause, we fall into a different type of routine and our minds resist getting back. However, the mind is definitely refreshed and I feel I work better after a pause. Knitting is my go to relaxation and I hate pausing my knitting hence pauses in knitting if any can only happen after a project is complete, a wip weighs heavy on my mind. Love the camisole and the mitts. Would love to test them when you call for it.

Thank you for weighing in Navneet! I think most of us would agree on the refreshing part of a pause. It feels like how we deal with resuming might vary widely from person to person. Yay!! Thank you so much for expressing interest. The mitts are getting edited currently, I hope to get them out for testing by end of August. 💗

Hi Kavitha! I have missed your posts. But I love hearing that you had a nice break. I am all for breaks. We used to take breaks as a culture more often. Like at the opera there would be a break before the 3rd act. Even TV shows know we need a bathroom break - that they call commercials. My life is full of breaks. It is how I get things done. While I am working on one project or another, I break to mop the kitchen floor or make a loaf of bread. While the floor is drying, or the loaf is rising I resume my project and find I have more interest in it. Little breaks count, too! Good to have you back. I am borrowing your little heart. ♡

Oh I agree about taking breaks as a culture more often in the past. At some point though we have started seeing taking breaks as a taboo and binging as the normal way to get anything done. Sigh! I love how you intersperse knitting and chores in your day. Thank you for your kind words as always.! ☺️

Taking considered pauses is such a healthy thing to do - in our lives and in our knitting. It's definitely something I need to get better at doing, and to recognise when a pause is needed, rather than waiting until it's forced on me anyway 🤣

I agree, it is good for the body as well as the mind. I think it that "recognising the need for a pause" many of us struggle with. We tell ourselves so many other things than just go ahead and take that break. 🙃
