Nice post Kavitha. I enjoyed your thoughts on creating a brioche item that would be good for beginners to learn the techniques involved. So kind of you to think of this! Also enjoyed the pic of the items that your students have knit. Makes me think how fun it would be to wear a simple dress with a brioche belt as an accent! And of course I love the drawing by the 13 year old Slovenian student Anja Rozen! It is brilliant!
Thank you so much Sandy. I am so glad you enjoyed this post. Omg, a brioche belt for a dress would be terrific!!! Me too, I loved Anja's drawing and her thought behind it right away.
Thank YOU for trusting me with brioche and all your kind support. What can I say, I am so happy to see those swatches every time, myself. So glad we remembered to click a picture the other day.
What a fun challenge! I'd love to learn brioche, and your shawl pattern looks like a lovely place to start! Thanks for coming up with this introduction!
I loved it immediately. I can't describe in words, but every time I look at it, the picture evokes so many feelings. Aww, thank you so much for the support!
What a wonderful post Kavitha, I immensely enjoyed reading your thoughts on how to tackle brioche as a beginner. All photos and Tipps must be welcomed by everyone, even more seasoned knitters.
This scarf is definitely great as a beginner project. I still feel brioche tricky, mainly because fixing mistakes while working is tedious. So I tend to frog and continue marking after each row is completed. And you have given great tips to overcome that.
Thank you so much for being a sport and testing this one Vidya! I understand what you mean. Yes, so many things are going on simultaneously in brioche knitting. It takes a while to wrap our heads around it. I'm glad you find the tips helpful.
Congratulations!! :) Your PLBS sounds like just the thing to ease into Brioche knitting. How I'd love to attend one of your workshops in person :) Your students' work shows they really got the hang of Brioche. The drawing of Peace really moved me.
Aww, thank yo so much Jodie! You are so kind. I was so thrilled with their work too. They just took the basics and ran with it in so many cool ways. I agree, the peace drawing evokes so many emotions every time I look at it.

Love this post! Such a beautiful drawing!
So happy to have learned brioche from you and can’t wait to knit the PLBS! And I recognize those swatches 😉❤️
Thank you so much Alexa! I loved the drawing too.

I do love this shape of scarf, so much more wearable than some of the more triangular shapes.
Thank you Louise. I have come to like these so much. I find that the long and shallow crescents to be very wearable too.

Yay!! I am so glad you are making up your mind. Brioche is addictive and is a nice kind of challenge once mastered.
The image of peace you shared really touched me. Thank you for sharing that. I’m off to get the scarf pattern. Thank you for the discount.

I have a love hate relationship with brioche precisely because its so difficult to correct! This scarf looks like a perfect introduction
Thank you Lily! I hear you about the love-hate with brioche. Once learnt though, the rhythm gets addictive.
Great tips, thank you!
I am so glad they are helpful. :)
Love this! Also congrats !!!
Thank you so much! ♥️
