Why should all color blocks be...well, blocks?
Fluens Tee design details , tester projects, CraftDoodling Designs news, etc.
Thank you for your support and welcome to my latest release, Fluens Tee. 🩷It is a drop shoulder garment, knit from the top down with quite a few details built into it.
Use coupon code FLUENSLOVE to enjoy introductory 20% off until Mon Dec 09 midnight, PT.
Fluens Tee is available for download from Ravelry and Payhip.
The tee is designed to be worn with 0-8” (0-20 cm) of positive ease at the chest. Depending on the yarn’s fiber content and the ease you knit with, Fluens can be worn alone as a summer top or layered for transitional weather.
Color-blocking
While coming up with ideas for this design, I was looking to add some details to the garment, that are interesting yet not too complex. Color blocking fit the bill well as it is relatively easier than other kinds of color work. But it can also be a bit boring.
So I decided to do the color blocking using short rows, making the two colors appear to flow smoothly into each other creating some visual interest. The word “fluens” simply means flowing or streaming.
Directions are given in the pattern to work the short row color-block detail as a slightly shallow curve or a sharp V .
Folded Hem
This tee is designed with a folded hem detail at the neck, sleeves and bottom hem for a refined look. However, a few different alternatives are suggested in the pattern as well.
I am immensely grateful for testers who help me with their time, skill and feedback for my designs. Please show their projects some love on Ravelry.
You can download a handy Fluens Preview pdf from here, for free. It is packed with project details, schematic, yardage details, construction brief etc to help you plan your garment better. The layout used in this document is the same I use in my patterns.
What options would you choose / omit to do in your Fluens Tee and why? I am eager to know about your knitting preferences. Please share in comments below. ♥️

I am so impatient to knit the Mika vest! I needed to be wearing it like yesterday. 😂 I love everything about it.
How fun to see your design come to life with different knitters' flourishes! Shows how versatile the pattern is and also easily doable for many knitters. A thumbs up for sure! :-)
