What's new at CraftDoodling Designs?
Chalana socks ready for release, Brin cowl pattern testing call, other updates, etc.
I’ve been quiet here for sometime, but I have been working behind the scenes to get some designs to their next stage and get started with some new ones.
Here are some updates for you!
Chalana Socks - Pattern Releasing soon
Chalana Socks releases on Jun 05. Please, keep an eye out!
My sock patterns come in 4 sizes and I write stitch distribution for both dpns and magic loop throughout the pattern.
What do you use to knit socks? Dpns or magic loop or other tools? Why do you like them better than the others? I am always curious to know.♥️
Brin Cowl Pattern Testing Call
I have a beginner friendly brioche cowl pattern up for testing currently in my Ravelry Group. Please check the testing call for more details and sign up if you are interested.
Upcoming designs
I have been working on sketching and doing preliminary calculations for some designs. It might be a bit too early to update here as I will not be able to work consistently on them yet. But I couldn’t help showing you some behind the scenes.
This is a swatch for a new cardigan I am getting started using Sea Change Fibers Fjord Tweed Fingering. I bought this one from Sara, last year Lambtown. This color ‘Mulberry bush’ was an instant love!
If you like my newsletter, please consider sharing it with a friend. ♥️
I am also getting ready to work with Kacey Knits sock yarn I bought during Bay Area Yarn Crawl. It will be a 2-color brioche shawl. Kacey’s colors are gorgeous and I am so happy to have paired these two up.
Other updates
Speaking of Lambtown, just a little heads up - I will be teaching at Lambtown later this year. Here is an early peek into the instructor lineup this year.
I needed something to work on mindlessly while coming up with ideas for new designs. So I started these projects.
I started a crochet top for my daughter using this sparkly cotton yarn from Araucania Yarns. I have progressed beyond what you see in this picture, but didn’t take pretty WIP pictures. 🫠
I also started knitting a happy little blanket with my fingering, sport, and DK leftovers. These random garter stripes make me so happy. I haven’t assigned moods to colors to make it a proper mood blanket. But in general this knitting project helps to unwind and uplift my mood at the end of the day.
How is your knitting helping you with your day? I’d love to hear all about it in the comments. ♥️

I accept any of these with immense gratitude. Thank you!
I use two-at-a-time magic loop. It's kind of chaos getting started but once I'm going I really like it. There's relatively less moving stitches, you knit across both socks, then pull the cables through to go across both on the other side. And no second sock syndrome!
I am a DPN person. I have used magic loop but find it takes longer than using DPN. With the DPN I just keep knitting. I tend to be a fast knitter and don’t seem to suffer from second sock syndrome.
