My First Pattern of 2025 - Sneak Peek
Details about upcoming pattern collection, knit happy summit, other updates, etc.
Welcome! 🎉
There are so many of you who have subscribed to my newsletter over the past couple of weeks. Welcome! Writing this newsletter for you every week is both an honor and a privilege, and I do not take it lightly. Thank you for being here! 🌟
For those of you who have been with me for a while, thank you for your continued support. Your encouragement means the world to me, and I’m excited to share what’s next. 💖
Knit Happy!
Many of you may have discovered me through the Knit Happy Summit. I hope you caught my presentation and found some ideas to incorporate into your own knitting. If you’ve had a chance to watch other presentations, I’d love to hear which ones inspired you—leave a comment and let me know! 📢
While I’m still savoring all the incredible energy from the Knit Happy Summit, I can hardly believe it’s almost time to unveil my first design of the year.
The Ceremonial Grade Cowl 🪧
I’ve been keeping this under wraps for a while, but now it’s time for the full reveal: my first design of 2025 is the Ceremonial Grade Cowl, which will be released on January 30th—less than a week away! ⏳
Although I’ve been teaching beginner and intermediate crochet classes for the past two years, I haven’t published any crochet designs in quite some time. This design came to life as part of the upcoming Bay Area Yarn Crawl—a fun-filled event with a Make-Along (MAL) featuring three cowl designs in three different crafts.
Here’s a sneak peek at this unique mini-collection:
Knit Design by Ksenia (aka life_is_cozy)
Tunisian/Hybrid Crochet Design by Kira (aka kirakdesigns)
Crochet Design by yours truly!
Are you excited? Several knitters I’ve spoken to recently are planning to try their hand at crochet or Tunisian crochet (or both!).
How about you? How many of these crafts are you familiar with, and which ones are you eager to explore? Let me know!
What is a Yarn Crawl? 🎪
For those who aren’t familiar, a yarn crawl is an event where fiber enthusiasts visit as many local yarn shops (LYS) as possible within a designated timeframe.
The Bay Area Yarn Crawl runs from March 14 to 23, 2025, featuring 22 shops in the San Francisco Bay Area. Along the way, you’ll find games, prizes, trunk shows, designer meet-and-greets, book signings, and more. 🏦🎒
The above details are from the Bay Area Yarn Crawl website. Be sure to subscribe to their newsletter to stay updated and start planning your crawl! I’m thrilled to participate and hope to see some of you there. 🌐

OTHER UPDATES
Knit Happy Summit Presentation 🌟
My presentation, “Your Guide to Well-Fitting Fingerless Mitts,” went live at the Knit Happy! Summit on Friday, January 24. If you’re reading this on Saturday, January 25, you might still have a few hours to catch it.
The summit features over 25 presentations packed with valuable content. If you want to learn at your own pace, consider upgrading to the VIP package, which includes some amazing bonuses. I’ve bookmarked several presentations to watch and take notes on later.
Here’s a link to the Knit Happy! Summit Kickoff YouTube Live video, which provides helpful information about how the summit works.
Mika Vest Progress
The second sample of my Mika Vest is coming along slowly. Here’s a quick WIP shot I took at the library while my daughter worked on an assignment: 📚
