Inevitably, when knitters gather, they can split into two or more parties and passionately argue about one aspect or another of their beloved craft. And I absolutely adore the fact that knitting offers so much to think about, observe, practice and learn. 🧶
In today’s newsletter I tried to write a fun little poem for you, about swatching, which is a favorite topic of discussion among knitters. I hope you enjoy it! 😊
If you are wondering, I absolutely love and enjoy swatching and can happily spend a whole day playing with my swatches. :)
Speaking of gathering knitters, I am actually excited to be teaching at the Lambtown festival on Oct 07.
I am doing a “Beginner Crochet Workshop” and I hope to spend some time at the marketplace as well. Please say hello, if you see me there. 👋🏼
I have been offering knitting and crochet workshops at my LYS Fillory Yarn, for more than a year now. I am grateful for these opportunities to meet with fellow makers on a regular basis. I love the energy and creativity of these meetings and I constantly get inspired to do better with my design work. 💗
We learned to crochet a granny square bag and line it as well in this workshop. :)
A little design sneak peek for you! It started as an idea to teach in a beginner brioche class. I have been enjoying making this pretty little brioche scarf so much, that I am thinking of publishing the pattern as well. Especially that it is so easy to carry around and knit. :) Gotta love those projects, do you agree?
Other things I thought you’ll enjoy:
🎨 I’ve been practicing watercolor trees for a while now. They seem to be getting somewhat better. (:
📚 Currently, I am reading ‘The Music Shop’ by Rachel Joyce.
Until next time,
Kavitha. ♡

That was a great poem. Very clever to read it top to bottom then back again.
Loved the poem! And I actually don’t like swatching. But reluctantly do so…. Only for knitting 😅
